This is the definitive NeoBux review.
What is NeoBux?
NeoBux is a pay-to-click (PTC) platform that pays you to view advertisem*nts and click on ads, as well as to take surveys and play free online games.
Access is available worldwide at NeoBux.com. Right now there’s no mobile app.
This way of making money online is known as GetPaidTo.

How does NeoBux work?
NeoBux describes itself as a “Get-Paid-To Service”. It works by selling clicks to advertisers who want to drive traffic to their sites. Users then sign-up and click to view these advertisem*nts in exchange for cash.
Here’s how NeoBux describes it…
The site also offers users the chance to “rent referrals”. Basically, you “buy” users who sign up normally, then make a commission on their NeoBux activities.
You can also earn cash completing surveys and playing games on NeoBux. You do this from the main dashboard.
Is NeoBux legit or a scam?
NeoBux has been around since 2008, but seems to have a questionable reputation.
A lot of the criticism focuses on its “rented referral” program.
Popular subreddit r/beermoney calls it a pyramid scheme. Another Reddit user suggests it uses bots.
Despite this, NeoBux has a lot of positive reviews and a very high rating on Trustpilot…
Where NeoBux seems most legit is when clicking ads or taking surveys yourself. Many users report successful experiences making money.
Here’s a screenshot from the NeoBux Forum detailing one of many modest success stories…
So is NeoBux safe?
I’d say NeoBux is safe. The platform has zero-tolerance when it comes to hackers and will act quickly at any sign of foul play.
Here’s what they have to say in terms of unethical users…
Their full policy is available to view on their Help section.
Where safety might come into question is via the “rented referral” system, as mentioned several times in this article.
Your best bet for staying safe while using NeoBux is to stick with clicking ads or taking surveys on the platform.
How much does NeoBux pay?
Nigel Neobeaux
- Online Survey Taker at NeoBux
- $0.36 – $1 per hour
Nigel Neobeaux represents a typical person doing online research studies at NeoBux. As you can see, his earnings are fairly low. (This is typical for survey sites.)
Clicking to view an ad will pay anything from $0.001-0.005. Most ads take around 10-12 seconds to view.
Surveys pay more but I couldn’t find any offering more than $1.
The average cash reward for a survey appears to be around $0.60 but there are quite a lot of daily surveys available.
Some users report completing surveys only to not qualify.
Playing games on NeoBux doesn’t offer a great cash rate either. Two minutes of gameplay pays the equivalent of viewing 5-6 ads ($0.025).
NeoBux claims you can make more via its “rented referral” scheme but due to its reputation I’m wary to recommend it (see above).
The platform also works on a tier-based system. According to the forum, you advance tiers by clicking ads, logging in daily and completing other activities. Here’s how that works…

How does NeoBux pay?
Payment Options | PayPal, bank transfer. |
---|---|
Minimum Payout 7 | $2 on the first cash-out, gradually increases to $10. |
NeoBux can pay via PayPal or a standard bank transfer. You can see your earnings in your dashboard and cash out directly…
The minimal withdrawal is $2 on the first cash-out but increases by $1 each time. When you reach $10 this will be the new minimum. Some users mention problems cashing out.
One thing to note about NeoBux is that it will often suggest using your earnings to rent referrals in the hope of making more money. This Reddit user argues against doing this.

NeoBux Hacks
Although NeoBux promotes its “rented referral” process as an easier way to increase earnings on the site, I wouldn’t call it a hack.
Here’s what they say about it however…
Based on research, I wouldn’t recommend investing any money into the site. It’s probably a better idea to stick to completing surveys or clicking ads yourself.

NeoBux Referral Program
Referral Program 8 | Available (details here) |
---|
NeoBux’s direct affiliate program is less controversial than its “rented referral” scheme.
You’ll take a commission from referred users’ activity so long as they mention your account name on sign up.Commission rates differ per ad.
NeoBux Help says you’ll get $0.0005 for a referral clicking a fixed ad. They make no mention of referral earnings from completing surveys or playing games.
You’ll also have to click 100 ads first and wait 15 days before you can refer other people to NeoBux.
NeoBux Complaints
Some common complaints I found while researching NeoBux:
- Very low earning potential
- Unreliable and untrustworthy “rented referral” program
- Most users (and referrals) quit using the site after two weeks
- Random account bans with no explanation.
One Reddit user also complains about being banned for the use of a VPN.
Is NeoBux worth it?
NeoBux definitely isn’t worth it if you’re looking to earn a living working online. (There are much better options for that.)
NeoBux might be worthwhile if you’re from a lower-income country, and you’re happy to click ads or complete a couple of daily surveys.
Its major cons include its poor earning potential and its questionable reputation as a pay-to-click platform.
I’ll give it a 0.5 rating out of 5.
