In this post, I’m sharing my favorite things to buy at Aldi to save money on groceries!

These are my 40 favorite things to buy at Aldi, and the best buys you will find there. Of course, I find something new all the time, too!

My 40 Favorite Things to Buy at Aldi
First, a few quick notes about Aldi:
- The stores aren’t huge or overwhelming. Aldi has private label brands and usually only one variety of each product. This makes shopping super quick and easy.
- Since Aldi has private label brands, they don’t accept coupons. But the prices are so great already.
- You need to take your own bags and have a quarter to get a cart. (Helps keep the prices low.)
- Since Aldi has private label brands, you won’t find many Ibotta deals, but you can use the no brand offers. You can get the free Ibotta app here.

My 40 Favorite Things to Buy at Aldi:
Eggs
The price on eggs changes often, but just last week, they were $0.48.
Milk
Best price on milk that I have found!
Cheese Slices
We love the colby jack and pepper jack cheese slices. You could possibly find these cheaper with a markdown deal or coupon deal at another store, but this is generally the best price I find.
Butter
Orange Juice
We drink orange juice with breakfast every morning, so I love stocking up at Aldi for a great price.
Cream Cheese

Shredded Cheese
The bags of shredded cheese are large and a great deal. I prefer the finely shredded cheese!
Crescent Rolls & Biscuits
Salad Dressing
You may find a better deal with a sale + coupon at another store, but salad dressing at Aldi is a regularly great deal.
Croutons
Fruit & Vegetables
Best prices on fruits and vegetables, other than Kroger markdowns. My favorites are bananas, oranges, apples, salad mix, green onions, strawberries, potatoes, mini peppers, and carrots.
Bread
The Hawaiian rolls are very comparable to King’s Hawaiian and a lot cheaper. I really love the brioche buns – not the cheapest, but cheaper than they would be at another store.
Also look for bagels, sandwich bread, and Naan bread for flatbread pizzas!

Graham Crackers
Condiments
Don’t buy condiments anywhere else, unless you are getting them for free with a sale + coupon. All the condiments we have tried from Aldi are great and so much cheaper than other stores.
We have used and love the mustard, dijon mustard, ketchup, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, pickles, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce.
Taco Seasoning Packets
So cheap and easier than mixing your own.
Gravy Packets
I love some brown gravy on my mashed potatoes! 🙂
Tortilla Chips
The Simply Nature organic tortilla chips are my favorite! There are a few cheaper bags that are perfect for parties!
Salsa
A big jar for less than $2!
Pasta
Don’t buy pasta anywhere else, unless it’s cheaper with a sale + coupon. Aldi pasta tastes great and the price is really great!
Pasta Sauce

Canned Vegetables
Less than $0.50 for lots of canned vegetables.
Chicken Stock
Vegetable Oil
Sugar
Flour
Olive Oil
Really great price on olive oil here. Stock up!
Chocolate Chips
These aren’t my all time favorite chocolate chips, but they are great for everyday cookies and recipes. They also have the mini ones!
Spices
I only buy spices at Aldi because the prices can’t be beat. Under $1 for most spices. I usually ask my husband to fill my Christmas stocking with spices! 🙂
Paper Products
I have been pleased with Aldi paper towels, paper bowls, napkins, and sandwich and freezer bags.
The toilet paper isn’t my favorite, but I grab it if there isn’t a better deal.
Dish Soap
A decent price, but can sometimes be beat with a sale and coupon at another store.
Frozen French Fries
I love the seasoned french fries and the price is great!
Frozen Sausage Links
Usually $0.99 for a pack of 10 sausage links. Perfect for a frugal breakfast!
Bacon
It’s hard to find a good deal on bacon, but Aldi prices are regularly great.
Chocolate Ice Cream
You can try the other flavors, but from the Aldi choices, the chocolate is the best in my opinion.

Water Bottles
I don’t like to spend money on water bottles, but we like to keep them when guests come over. Always the best price on a pack at Aldi!
Whew, that’s a lot of favorite things! You might be wondering if there is anything at Aldi I don’t love? Well, there is.
Here are a few things I don’t love and think you should skip at Aldi:
Name Brand Products
So, Aldi has mostly private label products, but they do carry a few name brands. These are usually not a good deal. Grab the Aldi brand instead.
Convenience Foods & Snacks
There are some snack foods, like cookies and fruit snacks, that are a better deal than other stores, but still kind of expensive. Skip these and get the bigger pack.
Lemon Juice
Dollar Tree has lemon juice for $1 – get it there instead.
Tortillas
This is a personal preference, but I don’t care for their tortillas. I stock up on Mission tortillas when I find a sale.
Home Items
I have bought several things from the home aisle and been pleased, but they aren’t always great deals. And you can go way over budget quick here.
So, if you are on a tight budget, skip the aisle and stick to your list.
Meat
I haven’t loved the meat I tried from Aldi, but I’m sure that’s a personal preference. Check out markdowns at another store instead.
Ok, those are my favorite things to buy at Aldi and the few things I think you should skip.
Shopping at Aldi is so quick and easy, and you can save so much money just by shopping at a different grocery store. You won’t need any coupons, or ninja shopping secrets.
