As a shopping writer and beauty addict, I spend a lot of time hunting down the best money-saving deals on makeup favourites. And just in time for Christmas gifting, I’ve found an offer that will save shoppers more than £50 on cult-loved beauty brand, MAC.
It comes as Boots has released a better-than-half-price gift set featuring four of the MUA-approved brand’s bestsellers. Worth £94, the MAC Go For Gold Golden Heroes set is priced at £39, meaning every item inside works out at less than £10 each.
All four of the products inside the health and beauty retailer’s Star Gift are full sized, saving £55 on the RRP, Liverpool Echo reports. Housed in a lip-shaped keepsake tin, it stars staples for eyes, lips and face, perfect for getting glammed up for the festive season, while being versatile enough for day-to-day wear, too.

One of the products inside is the MACXimal Silky Matte Lipstick in the iconic shade Velvet Teddy, which Kylie Jenner favoured back in 2015. The deep-toned beige is a perfect nude colour to wear all day and is suitable for most skin tones. It also happens to be the lipstick I've worn near daily for nine years, so there's no better time for me to restock.
Usually £25, the MACXimal Silky Matte formula offers a smooth texture which is comfortable to wear, and is said to last up to 12 hours. The shade has racked up a number of five-star reviews on the MAC website, with one commenting: “I love this lipstick shade! Including the texture first a matte lipstick as it goes on smoothly without any werid texture to my lips!”
Another added: “Velvet Teddy is the best nude I have used by MAC to date! It blends with my Chestnut Lipliner perfectly and I am very happy with it!”
“This lipstick is absolutely amazing,” penned a third. “Velvet teddy is a great shade that works for a neutral, everyday look for work.”
However, the lipstick will look different on everyone depending on your skin tone, and it didn’t look as expected on some shoppers. One said: “I bought Velvet Teddy after admiring the lipstick on a friend. I have wanted a Mulberry shade lipstick for a while and the colour looked perfect on my friend. I bought it online but when it arrived the colour wasn't as expected. The shade is very similar to my natural lip colour and appears nude rather than the stronger colour expected. That said the lipstick feels silky and light on my skin and has lasted quite well so far and smells delicious. My search continues!”
