Yes, not a good EQ for music. The presets are for gaming
Try these. First one (preset 2) I use with Wicked Cushions, second with stock pads. Turn your volume down to start. These might make your ears bleed.

But sounds soooo good through these. Music and PS5. Admittedly not for the faint of heart or those with low listening fatigue thresholds. Admittedly have to flip back to 'Immersive' if I'm really tired.
Also rarely take it above 80/90% (less on average) volume with these, no need for me.

It depends on tracks...

Does wicked cushions change tonal balance?

That's true and my tastes aren't to most but I've listened to a lot of different genres with these to get a feel for them and found this works well for me overall. Give it a try, see how it sounds to you. Great if you want strong bass without losing anything else. To me at least.

Yes. More than I expected to be honest.

Better? Or better stock pads?

I prefer the sound of the stock pads but the wc are more comfortable in warm weather. It's not uncomfortable but my ears make contact with the driver cover using the stock pads and even slightly with wc but this depends how they're angled on my head.

Wicked Cushions also create a stronger clamping force which keeps them on my head easier than the stock ones.

Try going into Windows Control Panel > Sound > Select the Maxwell and then Properties.
In the Advanced tab, uncheck the option to "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device." Might as well reboot for good measure.
An update on this. One shall choose the Allow take exclusive mode, but uncheck the give the exclusive priority.

Advise: the USB dongle it's not compatible with Roon Arc on Android. You have to deselect USB beta drive, elsewhere Roon Arc crashes

Did everyone have to re-pair their headset and dongle after the new update?
I updated last night finally, and when I did a power cycle on the headset it still seemed to connect to the dongle without issue.

I didn't have to.
