Happy Monday! It’s time for another grocery budget / meal planning post!!

In my last three grocery posts (see them all here!) I was operating on a $50 weekly grocery budget. For this post I decided to share a $60 weekly grocery budget instead because well, I was feeling a little lazy and those 10 extra dollars definitely made it easier. 😉

I think that a $60 weekly grocery budget is both frugal and doable for a family of four. (Well, five for us, but Lucas isn’t contributing too much to our food bill yet haha.)

I included some of our favorite easy meals in this week’s menu. I left one day for leftovers because two of the recipes I included always give us enough for at least two meals. If you’re looking for a low carb menu some of this week’s recipes probably won’t work for you, but you can check out the low-carb week I shared here!

$60 Weekly Grocery Budget – Menu

A couple things to note:

To simplify my meal planning, I mainly plan for dinners and just keep some basic items on hand for breakfasts and lunches. (For help with your meal planning/grocery shopping, check out this post and snag my free grocery list printable!)

I put an asterisk by items that we already had in the pantry or freezer. Obviously if you are starting completely from scratch you would have to spend a bit more than $60 to buy some of the basics.

Breakfast options:

Cheerios, *Oatmeal, Eggs, Strawberries, Pop-Tarts

Lunch options:

Leftovers, *Salad with shredded rotisserie chicken, wraps, *PB & J sandwiches

Snack options: Pretzels, Cheese sticks, *Apples, Oranges

Dinners:

1. Taco Soup
2. Beef Stroganoff Sandwiches, carrots
3. Rotisserie Chicken, peas (I shred the remaining chicken for tostadas the following night and for lunch salads!)
4. Tostadas
5. Million Dollar Spaghetti, salad (I divide this recipe into two 8×8 dishes. One goes in the freezer for later and the other makes us two meals!)
6. Homemade Pizza, carrots and/or salad (I use this super simple recipe for the pizza dough!)
7. Leftovers

Below is a list with prices of all the groceries I bought. I’m a BIG fan of Aldi and do most of my shopping there. (The only item not from Aldi is the rotisserie chicken I picked up at Costco.) If you don’t have an Aldi near you I am so sorry, it seriously saves us so much money!

• Oranges – $1.79 (a great sale price!)
• Bananas – $0.87 (1.98 lb. x 0.44/lb)
• Strawberries – $1.49
• Baby carrots – $0.89
• Tomatoes – $0.36 (0.40 lb x 0.89/lb)
• Frozen corn – $0.95
• Frozen peas – $0.85
• Spaghetti (1 lb.) – $1.09
• Pasta sauce (3-24 oz. jars) – $2.55
• Cheerios (Aldi brand) – $1.29
• Pop Tarts (because we needed a treat!) – $1.09
• Pretzels – $0.59
• Refried beans – $0.75
• Pinto beans – $0.99
• Diced tomatoes (3 cans) – $1.05
• Diced green chiles – $0.65
• Graham crackers – $1.25
• Applesauce – $1.89
• Tostadas – $1.89
• Wheat tortillas – $1.19
• Loaf of bread – $0.89
• Italian bread – $1.99
• Milk – $1.59
• Sour cream – $0.89
• Cream cheese – $0.79
• Cheese sticks – $2.99
• Shredded mozzarella cheese (2-16 oz. bags) – $4.98
• Eggs – $0.78
• Pepperoni – $2.19
• 5 lbs. ground beef – $9.95 (I only needed three lbs. for this week’s meals but it was a better deal to buy five!)
  
• Rotisserie chicken (from Costco) – $5.00

Total = $55.51

Note: I didn’t need to purchase lettuce or apples (both staples for us) because I already had some of each on hand. However, since I came in under budget I still would have been able to purchase them if needed.
